Serving God and being served by God in covenant renewal

On Sundays at 9:30 AM, we assemble for what we call "covenant renewal worship." Our service, which features lots of rich hymns and psalms and readings from Scripture, is organized around five Cs:

Call: God calls us to praise him, and we respond with prayer and praise

Cleansing: God cleanses us from our sins as we confess them to him

Consecration: God consecrates us to himself by the ministry of the Word (read and preached) and prayer (1 Tim. 4:5)

Communion: God communes with us, and we with one another, as we feast together at the Lord's Table

Commission: God, having blessed us and renewed his covenant with us, commissions us to go forth and serve him our daily callings and to make disciples of the nations

We love this model of worship, because it enacts on a weekly basis the gospel of Jesus Christ: that gospel forgives our sin (justification), frees us from our sin (sanctification), and gives us fellowship with the living, truine God (communion).
